Job Description:
-The YCW Escort is responsible for the line of sight supervision
of unaccompanied minor(s) and families in accordance with
established transportation by land and air policies and procedures.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established
standards, principles and ethics of the profession
Responsible for the safe and secure
transportation of unaccompanied minor(s) and families in a humane
manner in accordance with established transportation by land and
air policies and procedures. Ensures that an orientation is
provided to all children and families in a language they
understand.Reviews the documentation to ensure it contains all
information needed for travel.Completes, verifies, and provides
documentation to all parties involved.Prepares to work with
uncooperative individuals in both controlled and uncontrolled
situations.Prepares meals and snacks for the children and/or family
units for the duration of the transport.Logs transportation
details, such as medication, meals offered, eaten, and
refused.Provides clean and appropriate clothing based upon weather
conditions at destination location.Reports into the Command
Center(s) at established check points and advises on any changes,
disruptions or concerns throughout the transportation route.While
travelling, the YCWE, may incur out-of-pocket expenses. These
expenses will be reimbursed by the company as long as proper
documentation is presented (receipt and expense report).Travel
Chaperone will be required to provide documentation of all duties
performed while on shift.Other duties as assigned.
Attend all organizational required
trainings.Attend trainings that will enhance professional growth in
the area of Education, Vocational curriculum and instruction, other
topics as deemed appropriate by the program director or
designee.Attend departmental and program meetings to ensure that
up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy
changes or practice are adhered to.In the absence of a chaperone
leader, may be asked to serve as the interim chaperone leader and
be responsible for overseeing transportation operations within
their shift with pre-approval by the program director.Travel as
needed for trainings, conferences or to transport youth to
destinations located within the U.S.
Associate degree in an appropriate
discipline from an accredited college (a high school diploma with 2
years of relevant experience may be substituted for an associate
degree).Available for domestic travel 100% required. International
travel voluntary.Ability to comprehend and speak (both) Spanish and
English fluently.Possess a valid and current driver's License. Able
to navigate an airport environment, coordinate with airline
customer service if required and familiar with TSA screening
requirements.Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be
organized and have excellent verbal and communication
skills.Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS
Office products.Must be computer literate.Must be able to maintain
a flexible work schedule.Clean criminal background check from
appropriate entity.Cleared Tuberculosis test results. Cleared drug
test results (this one is for Texas programs only).Must be at least
21 years of age at the time of hire.Preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish)Experience
working with children with special needsAbility to ascend/descend
stairs.Ability to lift up to 15+ lbs.Able to communicate verbally
and listen to constant surveillance of children's
activities.Ability to stand; particularly for sustained periods of
time.Able to receive and understand detailed information through
oral communication.Able to withstand changing environmental
conditions with the weather (rain, lightning, and winds).Able to
withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields,
etc.This is a twenty-four hour residential facility at which minors
receive multiple services. There are three shifts per twenty-four
hour period. Hours and duties of work shifts are subject to change.
The noise levels varies from mild to moderate. Employees and
clients may be exposed to prevalent weather conditions. Position is
required to eat client meals during shift with the clients
