IMMEDIATE OPENINGS FOR LIFEGUARDS!Pay Rate: $11/HourJoyce Jaynes Branch: Monday - Friday; some Saturdays(Hours Vary - 15 Hours)Dorothy W. Hunt Branch: Monday - Saturday(Hours Vary 20 Hours)MAD Camp: Monday - Friday(9AM-12PM)JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies and performs routine pool maintenance activities to ensure a safe, clean pool environmentEDUCATIONHigh school degree or equivalent or be a minimum of 16 years of age enrolled in school with an active student status.EXPERIENCEMust possess a nationally recognized lifeguard certification. Certification must remain current throughout employment with the YWCA.OTHER REQUIREMENTSNationally recognized lifeguard certification. One-year lifeguard experience preferable, or any equivalent experience and/or training providing required knowledge, skills, abilities. Knowledge of water safety, pool chlorination and filtration systems. Excellent swimming skills. First Aid/CPR certified. Able to interact positively and communicate well. Able to analyze situations and make decisions.Good physical condition needed to lift/carry persons in water.
