responsible for providing personnel monitoring support and insuring
that emergencies and security violations are discovered and
reposrted to the proper authorities. Carry out instructions
primarily oriented toward insuring that emergencies and security
violations are readily discovered and reported to the appropriate
authorities. Intervene directly only in situations which require
minimal action to safeguard property or persons. Provide personnel
monitoring support for multiple contractors and vendors that do not
have the required security clearance for access to MDA facilities
(uncleared personnel). Remain with uncleared individuals for the
duration of their work within MDA facilities. Facility monitoring
support service personnel shall be required to execute other duties
to support other facilities management and facilities support
functions, as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Provides clear direction, information and assistance to client
visitors, guests, vendors and employees in a professional, pleasant
and courteous fashion.
- Controls access to and monitors construction sites. Reports
issues to management.
- Visually inspects all visitor, vendor and employee access
badges to verify that the authorized holder is the individual
presenting the badge to prevent unauthorized access to the
- Maintains surveillance and reports any suspicious persons,
vehicles and/or packages.
- Carries out instructions primarily oriented toward insuring
that emergencies and security violations are readily discovered and
reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Intervenes directly only in situations which require minimal
action to safeguard property or persons.
- Provides personnel monitoring support for multiple contractors
and vendors that do not have the required security clearance for
access to MDA facilities (uncleared personnel).
- Remains with uncleared individuals for the duration of their
work within MDA facilities.
- Assists site personnel in providing proper instructions and
directions during emergencies.
- Patrols the construction site on a regular basis.
- Maintains an active presence at the access gates to transport
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
- Complies with MDA Instruction.
- Presents a neat appearance and be easily recognized by wearing
provided uniform collared shirts and steel toed boots.
- Displays the MDA security badge at all times.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY This position will not have
management/supervisory authority. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
- one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training;
- equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- A secret clearance which can be verified in DISS is preferred.
Candidate must be able to obtain an interim clearance within 6
months and a secret clearance to follow.
- Strong attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly
in a fast-paced environment.
- Proof of US Citizenship is required.
- Guard personnel shall not release information to the public
prior to receiving written authorization from the MDA program
office (this requirement includes any information system that
provides public access).
- Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in
U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid
vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is
currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings.
Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the
mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal
will restore administration of the vaccine requirement. WORK
ENVIRONMENT Work will primarily be performed on site, indoors and
outdoors. Moderate to loud sound (e.g., construction sites,
warehouses, people traffic), extensive outdoor weather conditions
and all routine job tasks inherent in position; the ability to
stand and walk one-third to two-third of the time; the ability to
talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; close vision;
color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust
focus. Personnel shall be physically able to lift boxes, packages
and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds using proper equipment and
lifting techniques. Packages between fifty (50) pounds and one
hundred and fifty (150) pounds shall be handled utilizing the
"two-person" lift technique. Personnel are required to perform
considerable walking, pushing, lifting, and standing for long
