As a Functional Automation Coordinator, you will serve as a system administrator, security officer and reviewer for various IRS applications used by Field Collection, Field Examination or Operations Support. In this role, you will be involved in the coordination, control and direct operational support for computer systems. You will enter contract terms and perform receipt and acceptance procedures for various local locator service contracts. You will provide user support and training for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software and various IRS specialized computer applications.As a Functional Automation Coordinator you will:* Serve as System Security Officer/System Administrator for Account Management Services (AMS), Smart.Alx credit browser, Embedded Quality (EQ), National Quality NQ), EEFax (Enterprise E-fax) and various local locator services and/or other systems. Review and approve requests for access to applications on the OL5081 system.* Create user accounts, set appropriate access rights,* Conduct analysis/maintenance of user profiles and provide user support on an ongoing basis.* Provide new and refresher training to users as necessary.* Perform preliminary analysis of monthly activity reports for the credit bureau system, providing data to other employees in the workgroup for required security reviews.* Enter and maintain local locator service contract information in the webIPS (Integrated Procurement System) and Quest systems.* Reconcile vendor invoices; analyze spending patterns to report potential funding issues to management, and input receipt and acceptance confirmations to allow vendor payments.* Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve problems identified by users, elevating issues to other team members, systems analysts or IT as necessary.If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.WHERE CAN I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OTHER IRS CAREERS? Specialized experience for this position includes the following: General knowledge of the features, characteristics, and interrelationships of computer equipment, applications and utility programs, to assist in identifying problems; Practical knowledge of general diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify required actions; Basic knowledge of the following IRS applications: IDRS, OL5081, AMS, Smart.Alx credit browser. Basic skills in the use of the following COTS software: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, Adobe Acrobat. Entry-level skills in data entry, invoice reconciliation and customer / vendor contacts. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to carry out work assignments as directed.GS-8 LEVEL: You must have one (1) year or twelve (12) months of specialized experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position should include: Working knowledge of the features, characteristics, and interrelationships of multiple types of computer equipment, applications and utility programs, to assist in identifying problems; Knowledge of a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify required actions and implement decisions; Working knowledge of the following IRS applications: IDRS, OL5081, AMS, IPS, IPP, Smart.Alx credit browser; Advanced use of the following COTS software: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, Adobe Acrobat; Experience with data entry, invoice reconciliation, and customer / vendor contacts; Active participation in a team environment. Experience in development of user guides, training aids and delivery of training to system users. Ability to carry out work assignments independently.GS-9 LEVEL: You must have one (1) year or twelve (12) months of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-08 grade levelin the Federal service. Specialized experience should include: Extensive knowledge of the features, characteristics and interrelationships of multiple types of computer equipment, applications and utility programs; Knowledge of a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods and procedures to identify required actions and implement decisions; Ability analyzing data to identify problems encountered on computer systems. Advanced knowledge and use of the following IRS applications: IDRS, OL5081, AMS, IPS, IPP and Smart.Alx credit browser. Advanced use of the following COTS software: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, Adobe Acrobat. Experience in security review processing as a security administrator. Extensive experience with data entry, invoice reconciliation, spreadsheet analysis and customer / vendor contacts. Active contributor in a team environment. Extensive experience in development of user guides, training aids and delivery of training to system users. Ability to plan work and carry out assignments independently within an established timeframe.* The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service.
