We are looking for a dedicated Directorof Labor and Delivery like
you to be a part of our team.
As the Directoryou will be responsible for the analysis and
appraisal of the care given topatients within the Labor and
Delivery department. This includes but is notlimited to the day to
day departmental operations and productivity; futuredevelopment,
and budgetary projections for the service line. You will ensurethe
department maintains the highest degree of efficiency and safety
inproviding the highest standard of quality care; development and
maintenance ofstaff competency; inventory control and cost
containment; patient satisfaction;staff satisfaction; and,
physician satisfaction. You will collaborate andcoordinate with the
department staff to uphold the values and vision of LasPalmas while
accomplishing the mission of "Above all else, we arecommitted to

holds others accountable for adhering to the goals,policies and
procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center.
You willdevelop, supervise and administer maternal, adult, and
adolescent services as necessaryto include obstetrics, gynecology,
and post-partum nursing.
You willpromote a multidisciplinary coordination of services,
such as, nursing,medical, respiratory care, laboratory,
pharmaceutical and public relations.
You willdevelop, monitor, appraise and analyze budgetary goals
and outcomes for Laborand Delivery.
You willdevelop plan, in conjunction with Administrative
Director, for capital resourcerequired to maintain quality
You willadminister and appraise Quality Improvement within the
You will controlprocesses related to Human Resources; inclusive
of hiring, evaluating.Terminating, counseling, coaching and
development of the staff.
You willdirect, approve, and update the practice of professional
nursing and supportpositions within the services provided to
maintain quality patient care throughimplementation and evaluation
of clinical practice standards.
You willdevelop, interpret, inspect and review policies and
procedures for servicesprovided.
You willdevelop, institute, review and implement disaster
preparedness policies andprocedures for the organization.
You will collaborate,develop and participate in marketing of
services, including education programdevelopment, external
advertising and working in alliance with local andregional

Experience: 2 years experience in Labor and Delivery:
Education: AssociateDegree, Diploma in Nursing:
BSNrequired MSN preferred.
License and Certifications: CurrentRN licensure in Texas or
compact state: Required.
CurrentBLS certification: Required
CurrentACLS certification and NRP must obtain within one year
from date of hire: Required
