Job Description:

Position Summary:

Directs the activities of the fixed assets assigned to the Equipment Tooling Distribution Center (ETDC) to assure accurate accountability and efficient movement of fixed asset equipment. Ensure appropriate communication with APTIV Engineering divisional contacts, management of other facilities, property accounting, internal control and environmental agencies as required.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Rate : $19.13

Major Responsibilities:

Provide on-site facility management and ensure Fixed Asset records are accurately maintained and tracked. Commencing from the date the asset arrives ETDC until the asset is retired, sold or moved.
Record maintenance responsibilities include proper tagging, recording asset movement (Equipment Move Request Frm 2326) & alteration for disposal.
Protect assets from unauthorized storage and disbursement.
Oversee bailment paperwork and maintain electronic copies of all bailment documents for equipment temporarily moved to a vendor for testing or repairs. Effectively trace material that has been received or shipped; control and expedite transfer to Mexico.
Coordinate, with Mexico Disposal Coordinator, disposal of machinery. Execute the disposal of equipment, tools and expense items in compliance with procedure. Work with Property Accounting and Internal Control to sell items per procedure.
Manage area for testing and de-bugging equipment before shipping to plants thus preventing increase in transportation cost for return of failed equipment to suppliers.
Coordinate 10% audit of fixed assets in the warehouse monthly.
Oversee and ensure accuracy of equipment inventory data for APTIV Engineering Web Page.
Maintain a safe working environment with ensuring use of safety practices. Ensure facility compliance with OSHA, ISO and any other environmental/occupational guidelines.
Ensure that a quality system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with this International Standard.
Report the performance of the fixed asset procedure to Engineering Management for review and as a basis for improvement of the system.
To assure that the requirements for the EMS implementation (ISO 14001) are established, implemented and maintained.
To review performance compliance of the Environmental Management System.
To ensure adherence to all Internal Control and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Compile and report performance of requirements to high level Management.
Participate with site management in developing and implementing programs to comply with GQS, ISO-9000, etc.
Comply with Internal Control, ISO-9000, G.Q.S. (Global Quality System), Sarbanes Oxley etc.
College degree or 5-10 years equivalent work experience required
One to Two years' experience in a warehouse environment required
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills
Must have knowledge of fixed and capitol assets, internal control, ISO 9000, cost accounting, and computerized systems
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
