We would love to talk to you about this fantastic opportunity.----POSITION SUMMARY:The RN Resident is a registerednurse participating in a specified training program which is standardized basedon area of specialization.-- The trainingincludes orientation, combined with unit based, precepted clinical experiencesand didactic instruction.---- The RNResident is under the direct supervision of their Preceptor and SupervisorNursing Unit.-- According to hospitalpolicies and procedures, by the direction of their Preceptor, the ImmersionResident assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assignedpatients.--GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: --(Theessential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position includinginteractions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, inPRIORITY order.)
Progress towards successful completion of training plan and demonstrates expected competencies.
Completes mandatory education andcompetency requirements in specified timeframe
Completes Life Safety OrientationCompetencies (LSOC) as well as facility/unit specific competency checklist, agespecific competency requirements.
Completes HIPAA/HITECH training andEthics and Compliance training, maintains confidentiality practices.
Meets regulatory (at least weekly)with Preceptor, Educator, Manager/Director to track progress utilizing the Orientation Pathways EvaluationLevel Tool.
Planscomprehensive nursing care for assigned patients according to written hospitalstandards and physician orders.
Recognizesthat variables such as age, race, nationality, culture, disease-causingvulnerabilities, socioeconomic facts affect the patient populations under theircase. Uses interventions appropriate to these factors (e.g., interpreter, dietarypreferences, social service consult, etc.)
Identifies and prioritizes relevant nursingdiagnoses and critical pathways as appropriate.
--Completes admission assessment and documentsaccurately. Completes and documents------ anadmission assessment within appropriate timeframe.----------------------------------------------------------
-- Performs and documents patient assessmentsand reassessments completely and accurately according to unit policy or morefrequently, as indicated by patient condition.
--Identifies changes in patient condition (i.e.test results, abnormal findings, etc.) and reports these changes to thephysician and/or SNU.
-- Initiates discharge planning upon admission.
-- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary careteam
Assesses and documents patient and familyeducational needs on admission and throughout hospitalization.
Provides and documents care to assigned patients in compliance with written hospital policies and procedures and based on standards of care.--

Initiates chain of command, asnecessary,-- to appropriately care forpatients.
