Job Details - Location: Alamogordo, NM 88310 — New Mexico nursing jobs / travel nursing - Setting: Med/Surg Unit (medical-surgical nurse; float to Telemetry, Orthopedics, and Progressive Care Unit/PCU as needed) - Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN) - Start Date: March 30, 2026 - End Date: June 28, 2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (12-hour nights) - Hours per Week: 36 - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,950–$2,060 per week Job Requirements / Qualifications - Active RN license in New Mexico or a multistate compact RN license - BLS certification (AHA required) - Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Orthopedics, or PCU preferred - BSN preferred (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) - Ability and willingness to float between Med/Surg, Telemetry, Ortho, and Progressive Care Unit as needed - Strong assessment, charting, and medication administration skills for travel nursing roles Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients on the Med/Surg unit - Perform patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation - Administer medications and treatments per protocol and monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions - Monitor telemetry patients, recognize arrhythmias, and escalate concerns per facility policy - Deliver orthopedic and post-op nursing care when floating to Ortho, and manage higher-acuity patients when assigned to PCU/Progressive Care - Document patient histories, symptoms, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record - Address complex psychological, cultural, and social needs of patients and families; provide patient and caregiver education on care plans and discharge instructions - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, delegate tasks appropriately, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives Why Apply?
