Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYThe Pharmacy Technician assists the licensed
Pharmacist in preparation and distribution of drugs, maintaining
drug inventory, and maintaining records for a hospital with a
patient population ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric
experiencing medically complex conditions, general medical surgical
conditions with rehabilitation needs. The Pharmacy Technician
performs specific job responsibilities authorized by the State
Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations under paragraph
291.73.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications:--- Ability to
project a Professional Image.--- Knowledge of regulatory standards,
compliance requirements and hospital policies and procedures.---
Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of
practice in job situations.--- Strong organizational and analytical
skills.--- Working knowledge of personal computer and software
applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics,
databases, spreadsheets, etc.).Education and/or Experience:--- High
School Graduate or equivalent.--- One (1) Year of hospital pharmacy
technician experience preferred.Certificates, Licenses,
Registrations:--- National Pharmacy Technician certification
required or other exam approved by State Board of Pharmacy.--- CPR
certification.LANGUAGE SKILLSEnglish is the primary language of the
facility. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and policy procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of executives, managers, clients, customers, and the
public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and
divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent. Also the ability to create and interpret graphs.REASONING
ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form. Ability
to define and solve problems, collects data, establish facts and
draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety
of technical instructions in statistical or diagram form and deal

Appropriately accesses the resources of the company's regional

Hazardous Materials policies and procedures.--- HIPAA: Conduct job
responsibilities in accordance with HIPAA privacy laws, follow
hospital policy in provision of patient confidentiality. Able to
identify patient confidentiality issues and reports to proper
hospital personnel immediately.--- Compliance: Conducts job
