We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:Under general supervision, performs routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids which will aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of the treatment of diseases while maintaining the highest standards of medical technology. He/she must maintain the highest standards of any and all accrediting agencies. Performs related quality control and clerical work as required.POPULATION SERVED:Clinical Laboratory services performed on patients from Neonate to Geriatric ages.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Effectively uses laboratory equipment
  • Performs and reports testing on QC and patient specimens rapidly and without delay.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing testing procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
    License or certification NOT required.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory science or the sciences from an accredited university (or grandfathered/tested in for certification).PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESPreferred certification as a Laboratory Medical Technologist, MT(ASCP), or equivalent certification which is issued from a recognized accrediting agency. General 1-3 years clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESSkills and knowledge in medical laboratory technology. Ability to problem solve.This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).Las Palmas Medical Centeris a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso. It is home to the region's only kidney transplant center.
