We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:The CLINICAL PHARMACIST is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy services during their shift to include staffing, overview of the technical staff, maintenance of the pharmacy standard of practice and adherence to the policies and procedures of the department.POPULATION SERVED:Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Preparation & dispensing for all medications prescribed for all conditions/illnesses for an inpatient or outpatient of this facility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Reviews and interprets physician medication orders ensuring appropriate therapy.
    • Ensures that the compounding and dispensing of all medications is accurate and timely.
    • Actively participates in the pharmaceutical care of the patient to promote a positive outcome.
    • Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
      • Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
        • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy; Bachelor's or Doctorate Degree
        • One year experience as a hospital pharmacist is preferredPREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
          • Ability to learn aseptic technique
          • Good judgment and decision making skills
          • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
          • Maintain pharmaceutical knowledge with continuing education
          • Ability to learn multiple computer skills
          • Ability to get along with co-workers in a positive mannerThis role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).Las Palmas Medical Centeris a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso.
