Position FAQ Will manage inventories, labor, delivery schedules, client roster, etc. Must be able to present to high profile clients Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday/10 hr days (some weekends to cover events & emergency response) Must have a valid Driver's License Must be local to the Midland/Odessa area or within a 30 minute drive I. Summary (Scope of the Job) Cotton is searching for a reliable, high-volume adaptable and highly experienced Catering Manager for our Odessa, TX office. This role will be responsible for the overall operations, quality control and fiscal control, as well as the satisfaction of the customer at each event under their supervision. They are to be dedicated to professionally manage, direct and train the catering staff to achieve the highest level of food service support operations while incorporating and executing standard policies and procedures. The Catering Manager will require their individual sites maintain a safe, professional, quality, efficient and profitable operation as well as being knowledgeable in menu cycle preparation and nutritional standards. The Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' catering experience, be ready to approach the next step in their career and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced customer focused environment. Major Responsibilities Plan nutritious, quality meals for efficient and prompt meal service in accordance with established time schedules. Maintain safe, professional, quality, efficient, and profitable operation Responsible for employee schedules, assets, and timely paperwork Periodic Remote Site support Maintain a sufficient inventory of groceries by ordering them accurately and in a timely manner and by promptly storing and rotating groceries in accordance with the first-in, first out policy. Maintain 24-hour client service by proper crew scheduling and rotation. Maintain and submit accurate required paperwork, which includes payroll, grocery inventory and order form, safety paperwork and all paperwork required by operational personnel in a timely manner. Supervise staff to ensure that proper sanitation and hygiene standards are always being followed while performing duties in a safe and efficient manner. Daily and Event cleaning and re-sets Development of relationships with customers/clients for continued and repeat business Understand and execute all contractual obligations Make sure crew is on time for their shift and communicates with their relief before commencing duties. Demonstrate skills and abilities for other personnel to train and motivate them for promotion. Be responsible for cleaning and coordination of cleaning between shifts and individuals. Be responsible to step in and undertake an assignment if a crew member is absent and/or the need arises. Maintain good customer relationships through courteous, daily contact. Deal with all problems as if they are opportunities to strengthen your relationship with the client. Maintain compliance with contractual obligations. Be responsible for ensuring the safety of your crew by: Ensuring all employees are properly trained in their jobs and in safety. Ensuring all employees are following proper job and safety procedures. Ensuring all employees are wearing proper uniforms and PPE where needed. Ensuring all safety hazards and unsafe job practices are corrected. Ensuring all employees know proper evacuation and emergency procedures. Conducting regular safety meetings for discussing and reviewing safety matters and safety equipment. Discuss safety matters with individual employees and answer any appropriate questions or concerns they may have. Conduct safety inspections of the kitchen and dining areas and maintain any safety inspection records. Be a role model for using safe and proper working procedures. Maintain good relations with your employees so that you may become aware of any temporary problem or condition that may put your employees at risk. Know the location and operation of emergency equipment including fire extinguishers and first aid kits. Report to your supervisor or camp manager any safety hazard you are having problems controlling. III. Background Requirements: Education: -- High School Diploma or equivalent -- College Degree (preferred) -- Valid Driver's License -- Safe Serve -- Any additional culinary training and/or certifications is a plus Experience: -- Portioning and Controls -- Commercial kitchen familiarity -- Proficient Microsoft Office skills -- Minimum 3 to 5 years as a Multi-Unit manager in a full-service buffet style environment -- Must possess strong leadership and communication skills -- Solid track record of success in previous assignments demonstrating upward career tracking -- Must be dependable, reliable and motivated -- Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, with extensive standing/walking -- Excellent cooking/baking skills Knowledge and Skills: -- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities -- Exceptional interpersonal skills -- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. -- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons. -- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds -- Sense of urgency -- Ability to be flexible in schedule to meet operational needs.
