Job Description Job Description We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Residential Drafter to assist with producing construction documents for residential permitting. This role is focused on drafting and documentation, not conceptual design. The drafter will take provided floor plans, sketches, and redlines and convert them into complete, code-ready permit sets. This is an excellent opportunity for a drafting student, recent graduate, or junior-level drafter looking to gain real-world residential construction experience, with strong potential for the position to grow into a full-time role based on performance and workload. Primary Responsibilities: Draft residential construction documents from provided floor plans and direction Produce permit-ready drawing sets including: Floor plans Exterior elevations Building sections and details (as required) Roof plans Foundation plans (per engineer direction) Apply redlines and revisions accurately and efficiently Maintain clean, organized CAD files and consistent layer standards Coordinate with the Architectural Coordinator for clarifications and revisions Meet deadlines to support active permitting and construction schedules Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD (residential drafting experience preferred) Ability to read and interpret floor plans, sketches, and markups Understanding of basic residential construction methods and terminology Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow established drafting standards and workflows Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision Preferred (Not Required) Experience producing permit sets for residential projects Familiarity with local residential codes (IRC knowledge a plus) Drafting or architectural coursework or certificate Experience working with builders or residential design firms Company Description Custom Homebuilder Company Description Custom Homebuilder
