We are looking for a dedicated Office Coordinator like you to be a
part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:The
Intake Coordinator role is critical to the patient experience at
the Las Palmas Infusion Clinic. They are the "first impression" for
the department. The Coordinator works in a dynamic team environment
to problem-solve and collaborate with the goal of providing
excellent first and ongoing patient experiences.The Coordinator is
responsible for providing administrative support for the
department, including regular communication and information
dissemination, as liaison and coordinator for a wide range of tasks
related to outpatient support.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides
administrative support and coordination for:
- all aspects of patient care for both new and established
patients
- interaction with physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical and
infusion nurses, care coordinators, clinical assistants, business
office, laboratory technicians, research nurses and coordinators,
pharmacists, administrators, and other departments including
admissions, radiology, radiation oncology, social work, integrative
medicine, in-patient oncology, genetics and quality.
- Scheduling of appointments following guidelines that support
safe clinical practice, patient comfort, and continuity of care for
complex treatments. This requires the ability to learn, understand,
retain and apply knowledge of complex patient treatment regimens
with diverse, unique and specialized requirements tailored to
individual patients, and necessitates a high level of understanding
of the clinical aspects of treatment including individual drugs,
timing and frequency of use and specialized insurance
restrictions.
- Activities that require a high standard of timely communication
and extensive scheduling/rescheduling of patient visits and
treatments as necessary to meet patient and operational needs.
- Verifies patient eligibility and benefits and confirms
insurance is active in network.
- Identifies and interprets clinical referral documents to assist
with site coordination of clinical care priorities, i.e. same day
open cases, IV infusion services, wound care, etc. to assure timely
and admissions.
- Utilizes EMR system and other computer programs to determine
benefit eligibility.
- Ensures timely completion of intake process to satisfy requests
of patients and referral sources, which may entail working after
normal hours, on weekends, and on holidays as required.
- Coordinates and prepares all reports for regulatory agencies &
compliance
- Manages high volumes of calls for information Infusion
ClinicEDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
* BA/BS degree/college coursework preferred; HS diploma or GED
requiredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONNone requiredEXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR
PREFERRED:Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare
customer service environment requiredSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND
ABILITIES
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in a Microsoft
environment
- Bi-lingual capability highly desirable.
- Possesses ability to multi-task and function as an integral
member in a team environment.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication
skills.
- Ability to act on own initiative and exercise independent,
judgment.
- Ability to assume responsibility and make sound decisions in
accordance with established policies am procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow quickly and accurately brief
oral and written instructions. Ability to organize and complete
work in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to prepare and audit reports.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with Administration, Medical Staff department
managers, staff, arid hospital personnel.
- Ability to deal tactfully and communicate effectively with
persons of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.This role
requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local,
state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or
