Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.The Wholesale Financial Crimes Risk Controls (WFCRC) team is responsible for the coordination, assessment, and execution of Wholesale Banking's Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) Program. Specifically, WFCRC ensures that Wholesale Banking complies with Wells Fargo's Enterprise BSA/AML Program and applies the Enterprise Program to Wholesale Banking to effectively manage BSA/AML risk. WFCRC provides the central governance for all Wholesale Banking lines of business (LOB) to drive consistency in approach, interpretation, and execution, while coordinating and partnering with each LOB financial crimes team to ensure accountability and ownership remain within each LOB. WFCRC team members must be able to translate leadership vision into executable strategies and drive implementation efforts to achieve transformational change delivering business benefit. Key success criteria will be the ability to manage diverse relationships and foster a collaborative team dynamic with Risk Management, LOBs, Audit, Legal, and other stakeholders.The Control Strategy & Implementation (CSI), team sits within WFCRC and includes the Control Design & Assessment Team, whose primary responsibility will be to assess the control environment for effectiveness; and partner with key stakeholders in the design and build of new controls and solutions for ineffective controls.This Operational Risk Consultant 4 will report to the manager of the Control Design & Assessment Team. The team will execute design assessments that align to mapped controls to identify findings, determine gaps, and assess control design strength; develop and implement ongoing assessment schedules to ensure continued effectiveness of controls; work within the Controls Assessment Lifecycle to define and communicate key concerns and suggested solutions to control owners and management; and act as a gate keeper for future controls.Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

      Other Desired Qualifications
      • 5+ years Financial Services Industry at a full-service financial institution with domestic and international operations with at least 2 years in Wholesale Banking or similar experience
      • Experience with Wholesale Banking processes and operating requirements at a large, complex, and globally-diverse financial institution
      • Regulatory and Financial Crimes Compliance experience
      • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships and facilitate efforts across business units, creating alliances among diverse stakeholders
      • Demonstrated thought leadership and ability to find creative solutions to problems utilizing data
      • Demonstrated success at developing risk solutions in the context of portfolio reviews and decision-centric risk baselines
      • Proven track record of prioritization and follow up skills, and meeting deadlines with quality deliverables
      • Experience with assessing issues, making quick decisions, implementing solutions, and influencing change
      • Experience with change management, root cause analysis, control framework
      • Familiarity with Wells Fargo systems of records such as Hogan, WCIS, Cornerstone and Store Vision Platform a plus
      • Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) experience a plus
      • Testing and validation experience a plus
      • In depth understanding of regulatory and risk management corporate policies a plus
      • Bachelor's Degree

        Job Expectations
        • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
